Here are the steps in the solar panel installation process:

  • Initial Needs Assessment

    Measurement, shade tolerance, roof condition
    Evaluate where equipment will be installed. Is it able to support the solar panels and are any repairs needed?
    Initial Proposal

  • Design

    The engineer will perform a site visit first. The design process is based on licensed requirements, understanding of municipal requirements, location, shade tolerance, and equipment. It is critical to have an installation team that has experience dealing with Colorado’s climate and understands high altitude needs.

  • Permits and Required Installation Records

    Permitting requires experience and good standing relationships with all 17 Colorado utilities. A detailed process is important to ensure all documentation is complete, on time, and that you have the records you need for your home, including the forms for tax incentives and rebates. 

  • Equipment Purchase

    EcoMark will create a detailed purchase order and verify the document meets vendor requirements.
    EcoMark will take delivery of all equipment and perform an inspection.

  • Installation

    Our solar project coordinators will schedule and confirm your installation dates. Our installers will inspect your roof for any changes since the initial visit. Next our electrician will complete the wiring that will connect your system to the electrical panel and power grid. After the wiring is complete, the racking will be installed to support your panels. The next step is the  placement of the panels onto the racking. Lastly, the inverter system will be connected to the panels to convert the Direct Current (DC) energy coming out of the panels into Alternating Current (AC) energy that can be used by your home and fed back to the electric grid.

  • Schedule an Inspection with the Municipality

    The day of the installation we will schedule the inspection with the municipality. Your installer will schedule a meter installation with the utility.

  • Power Up Solar Panel System

    Lastly your installer will turn on your solar panel system and educate you on the operation of the system and the monitoring tools.
